Todd was employed as an electrician with Keiffer Paper Mill in Brownstown, IN, until it shut down in 00-01. This was a huge loss for Brownstown, IN as it had always been a staple employer in the town. Keiffer had been there for @ 100 years. Todd had been with them for approximately 9 years.
After his employment with Keiffer, he found employment with Morgans Food Service in Austin, IN. He was employed with Rose Acre Farms for approximately 6 months…… (Also Electrician) before he went to work for Lester Neal. – at a $4.00 pay raise. Todd worked for Lester for approximately 2 years until Lester retired.
Todd went to work for himself in 2005. He continued working for himself until the economy began to deteriorate – and his income became unstable. – At that time he decided to go work for companies that needed his services for the security of the income. He traveled all over the U.S. working for the companies that needed his electrician services. He would go where the company told him to go, work the job and come back. He would be gone for months at a time.
Todd was employed with Aerotek in 2008. – this was one of the companies that put him to work. He was given a reduction of workforce lay off on 8/26/2008 from this company. Todd is currently months behind on his mortgage and his utility bills are delinquent as well. We have assisted Todd with EAP, food pantry, and assistance through the CSBG ARRA Economic Assistance project, but he still needed additional assistance with his mortgage. We are working in coordination with our Mortgage Foreclosure Department in the Human Services, Inc. Columbus, IN, office for the additional assistance.
Todd recently landed employment with Beedl Transmissions. His statement to me today- ‘You don’t know how good it felt to go to the bank with a paycheck in my hand!’ ‘I felt like I was part of the human race again!’. That was awesome.
